For Lebanon’s children, this isn’t just a fleeting moment of fear; it is a sustained assault on their psychological development. With over 350,000 children displaced, many for the second or third time in just two years, the trauma is cumulative and deep-seated. Caregivers in Dahiyeh and the Bekaa report that children are unable to sleep, experiencing severe night terrors, and showing signs of developmental regression. This is a humanitarian emergency that cannot be solved by food and blankets alone; it requires specialised mental health intervention to prevent an entire generation from being defined by their trauma.
