Delivering Hope: Responding to the Crisis in Lebanon

The humanitarian situation in Lebanon has reached a critical juncture in 2026. Following an escalation of hostilities in early March, the country is facing its most significant displacement crisis in years, with over one million people forced to flee their homes. This surge in displacement comes on top of a pre-existing economic collapse, leaving families struggling to access even the most basic necessities like food, medicine, and shelter.

For vulnerable communities, including refugees, the reality is stark: 1.24 million people are currently facing acute food insecurity. At UKCare for Children (UKC4C), we believe that immediate, on the ground action is the only way to alleviate this suffering. Our teams are currently in the field, working tirelessly to provide essential aid through three primary pillars: cash assistance, food parcels, and long-term child sponsorship.

Emergency Appeal: Cash Aid

When families lose everything their homes, their livelihoods, and their sense of security they need the flexibility to prioritise their own urgent requirements. Whether it is paying for rent, securing medicine, or purchasing clean water, cash assistance provides the dignity of choice during moments of absolute chaos.

Our emergency cash distribution is designed to reach the families hit hardest by the current instability. The process is transparent and targeted, where the organised distribution ensures that vital funds reach displaced households efficiently. By empowering families with cash, we help them navigate the immediate fallout of the conflict, allowing them to manage their own survival when traditional supply chains have been disrupted.

Emergency Appeal: Food Parcels

While cash allows for flexibility, the rising cost of living and the disruption of local markets have made food access a daily struggle. With food insecurity reaching critical levels, providing physical sustenance is a lifeline for thousands.

Our food parcel distribution, is a direct response to this hunger crisis. These parcels contain essential dry goods and staples, carefully selected to provide nutrition to families who may have gone days without a proper meal. Ensuring that children, mothers, and the elderly have access to consistent, healthy food is our top priority as we navigate the logistical challenges of this crisis.

Children Sponsorship

Beyond the immediate emergency response, the long-term impact of this conflict on the most vulnerable members of our society, our children cannot be overstated. Children are often the first to suffer from interruptions to education and the trauma of displacement.

Our sponsorship programme is a commitment to the future of these children. Through your ongoing support, we are able to provide not just immediate relief, but sustained care that changes the trajectory of a child’s life.

  • The personal connection UKC4C builds with the children we support.
  • The meticulous administrative work behind the scenes, ensuring every sponsorship is accounted for and impactful.
  • By sponsoring a child, you are offering more than just aid; you are offering hope, stability, and a promise that they have not been forgotten.

The challenges in Lebanon and Jordan are immense, but the dedication of our supporters and field teams continues to make a tangible difference. Thank you for standing with us as we deliver hope where it is needed most.
