Our Work
Medical Aid
Health services in refugee camps are in a state of chronic crisis, due to a continuous shortage of funds, medication and medical equipment.
Poverty is the main driver of poor health in refugee camps, where the prevalence of communicable and non-communicable diseases is linked to the deteriorating living conditions refugees are facing. Doctors see on average 117 patients per day and struggle to treat patients caught up in a system that is chronically overstretched and under-resourced. People with disabilities and long term illnesses are some of the worst affected by the healthcare crisis.
In line with our commitment to improving the quality of life in deprived communities, our Medical Aid Fund supports the health sector and thousands of patients every year. We regularly help to restock healthcare facilities, cover the costs of medical treatment, train health professionals and support individuals with special needs.
