Resilience in Action: Launching the ‘She Leads’ Training Phase in Lebanon

The She Leads Project in Lebanon

In Lebanon, the national landscape remains a complex study in contrast. While economic analysts point to early signs of a “fragile rebound” and stabilizing inflation, the daily reality for millions remains precarious. Over 80% of the population continues to navigate life below the poverty line, and for many, the path to recovery isn’t found in macro-economic policy, but in the grit and determination of local micro-enterprises.

At UK Care for Children (UKC4C), we believe that the backbone of Lebanon’s future stability lies in the hands of its women. We are proud to announce the official launch of the training phase of the She Leads Project: Building Financial and Marketing Capacities of Women-Led Micro-Enterprises.

Empowering the “Heart” of the Economy

Women in Lebanon have long been described by humanitarian observers as the force “holding families together” through years of systemic collapse and displacement. However, for a woman-led business to move from a survival strategy to a sustainable livelihood, access to technical knowledge is essential.

The She Leads Project is designed to bridge the gap between hard work and business growth. Our current cohort of beneficiaries is diving deep into a curriculum tailored for the specific challenges of the 2026 Lebanese market.

What Our Entrepreneurs are Learning:

  • Effective Financial Management: In an economy where currency stability is a recent and delicate achievement, learning to organise and manage financial operations is a vital shield against uncertainty.

  • Precision in Pricing: With hyperinflation still a fresh memory, beneficiaries are mastering how to accurately calculate costs and price their products and services to ensure they remain competitive yet profitable.

  • Practical Marketing & Reach: Moving beyond local neighbourhoods, these women are developing skills to expand their customer base, utilising both digital and community-based marketing tools.

  • Risk Mitigation & Sustainability: We aren’t just looking for a “quick fix.” The training focuses on improving business sustainability to reduce the risks of failure, ensuring these businesses can withstand future shocks.

Why “She Leads” Matters Now

Investing in women’s economic empowerment is one of the most effective ways to drive community-wide recovery. Research consistently shows that when women earn an income, they reinvest up to 90% of it back into their families; prioritizing education, healthcare, and nutrition.

By supporting these entrepreneurs, we aren’t just maintaining buildings or providing one-off aid; we are investing in stronger families, resilient communities, and a more sustainable future for Lebanon.

The “She Leads” project is a testament to the fact that even in a fragile world, a small business led by a determined woman is a powerful engine for change. We look forward to seeing these enterprises flourish and lead the way toward a brighter, more stable Lebanon
